“Maïeutique”: Nadia Barbotin’s Exhibition at the Abbaye de Villeneuve

For the next two months, the Abbaye de Villeneuve will host “Maïeutique”, an exhibition by painter Nadia Barbotin. A vernissage will be held at the Abbaye on September 10 to mark the occasion.
Autodidact until 2014, Nadia Barbotin has developed an artistic practice combining different mediums over the years: oil, acrylic, inks, Indian ink and more. After studying contemporary painting, sculpture and life drawing at the Nantes School of Fine Arts, she continued her artistic journey in the United States before devoting herself fully to artistic creation and teaching.
Today represented by several galleries in France and abroad, she has notably collaborated with Bouygues Immobilier to create monumental artworks on display in Nantes.
Through several series, her exhibition “Maïeutique” explores the construction of our identity and our relationship with ourselves and others. A sincere artistic approach that invites introspection through self-awareness, memory, relationships with others and healing.
An exhibition conceived as an invitation to slow down, feel and connect with ourselves.
